Waterfall countertops extend the quartz down the side of an island or cabinet run, creating a continuous slab-to-floor surface. We precision-cut every mitered joint at 45° and pattern-match the veining so the seam virtually disappears. From templating to installation, every step happens in our Winnipeg shop.

Why a Waterfall Edge?

Why a Waterfall Edge?

A waterfall edge turns a functional countertop into a design centerpiece. The continuous slab-to-floor flow makes the surface read as a single sculptural piece — and quartz is the only material that handles it cleanly, with consistent color and a seam that disappears.

Seamless 45° Mitered Joints

Every waterfall is cut on a precision saw at exactly 45°, bonded with color-matched adhesive, and polished flush. The result is a joint that's virtually invisible in normal lighting.

Continuation-Matched Veining

We map the veining across the top and vertical faces before cutting, so the pattern flows uninterrupted around the corner. No abrupt breaks, no mismatched lines.

Mitered 6cm Thickness Look

Standard 3cm slabs can be mitered at the edge to read as a full 6cm-thick countertop, giving you a heavier, more substantial profile without the weight or cost of a true 6cm slab.

Built for Real Daily Use

The vertical slab faces of a waterfall take scuffs, kicks, and cleaner contact every day. Quartz handles all of it without staining, dulling, or chipping at the edge.

Waterfall Countertop Ideas

Popular configurations from recent Winnipeg projects.

Single-Side Waterfall

Quartz flows down one end of the island or run to the floor. The clean vertical face anchors the room and is especially effective with bold veining set against flat-panel cabinetry.

Double-Side Waterfall

Both ends drop to the floor for a fully wrapped, furniture-like piece. Best for freestanding islands that are visible from multiple angles in an open-concept layout.

Full-Wrap Waterfall

Quartz wraps the top, both ends, and the back panel for a fully encased look. The most dramatic configuration — every visible face is a continuation of the same slab.

Mitered 6cm Edge

A 3cm slab mitered at the edge reads as a full 6cm thick countertop. Adds visual weight and a more substantial profile without the cost or load of a true 6cm slab.

Common Questions

Everything you need to know about our waterfall countertops.

How are waterfall seams made invisible?

We cut the mitered joint at a precise 45° angle, then match the veining pattern across the top and vertical faces. The joint is bonded with color-matched adhesive and polished flush. In most lighting conditions, the seam is virtually undetectable.

How much does a waterfall edge add to the cost?

Waterfall edges require additional slab material — typically the equivalent of one extra slab face per drop — plus precision mitering and pattern matching. Cost depends on the number of sides and the height of the drop. We'll break this out clearly in your quote.

Can my existing island get a waterfall added?

In most cases, yes. We template your existing cabinet and fabricate quartz to wrap it. The cabinet structure may need minor reinforcement to support the vertical slab weight, which we'll assess during the template visit.

Does the veining really line up across the corner?

Yes. Before cutting, we map the slab and plan the cut so the pattern flows from the top surface down the vertical face. With heavily veined patterns the match is dramatic; with quieter patterns the corner reads as a single uninterrupted piece.

What's the difference between a waterfall and a mitered 6cm edge?

A waterfall extends the slab all the way to the floor — it's a full vertical face. A mitered edge is a short angled return (usually 3–6 inches) that makes a 3cm slab look like a 6cm slab. Both use the same precision mitering technique, just at different scales.

How long does a waterfall countertop take to install?

From template to installation, most waterfall projects take about 1 week. The fabrication itself takes a bit longer than a standard countertop because of the mitering and pattern matching, but the overall timeline stays the same.

Do you offer a warranty on waterfall countertops?

Yes. Every waterfall install comes with a 10-year workmanship warranty and a 30-year material warranty. Workmanship covers our installation — broken seams, leveling issues, or any defects in how the countertops were fabricated and installed. The material warranty is backed by the slab manufacturer.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, we require a 70% deposit to begin your project. The remaining balance is due upon completion of installation.

Do you offer contractor or builder pricing?

Yes. We have a contractor program that offers builder and contractor pricing for trade professionals. Contact us for details.
